So we have three people living in our place right now, and last year one of my roommates siblings left a ton of there stuff here. The other roommate and I have decided to start selling the stuff soon. My job is to revive an old laptop that got left behind, its putting up a good fight right now. And then figure out what all the old books are worth.

That's pretty generous of them to leave all that shit behind for you to sell, AND PUT IN THE CAR PARTS FUND? AMIRITE?

Here its probably going into the beer fund. But its being split, so it will be all good.

Oddly enough the laptop belonged to the ex-fiance of one of the old roommates.

This netbook. Does it have a recovery partition? Also, how much do you think you would want for it (if you left it the way it is)? I could likely fix it myself. My mom needs a new one and was thinking this may not be so bad. Is that XP that it's running?

Its running windows 7. Its an HP Mini 210-2090NR. And I have no clue, it likely will need a new keyboard, and its running generally slow. But other than it looks to be solid.

New keyboard? Did it get damaged? Hopefully it can be fixed. Not a bad little device for sure.

That would probably do it. There are tons of tutorial videos on how to change out a key board so I'm guessing its a fairly common problem.
